Biography
Mustafa Gul, PhD, MD, is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Ataturk University, Erzurum, Turkey. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Kuopio and received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Ege University. His research has focused on oxidative stress, antioxidant defense mechanisms, and the effects of endurance training on tissue glutathione homeostasis in both healthy and diabetic animal models, as well as on the cytotoxic activities and mechanisms of action of Mannich base derivatives in cancer cell lines. His most-cited publication, "Monoamine Oxidase (MAO) as a Potential Target for Anticancer Drug Design and Development" (2021), has received 69 citations, and he has authored more than 12 indexed publications spanning exercise physiology, biochemistry, and medicinal chemistry.
