Overview

Neonatal cardiac disorders are a group of conditions that affect the structure and/or function of the heart in newborns. These conditions can range from minor to life-threatening and can cause significant health complications in the short and long-term. Diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, can be used to identify neonatal cardiac disorders and help healthcare providers develop specialized treatment plans to address them. Early detection and treatment of these disorders are critical for improving a newborn’s quality of life and long-term health outcomes.
