It is a rapidly progressing form of leukemia and can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. Symptoms of AML include fatigue, fever, bleeding problems and increased risk of infection. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of AML is essential for patients to receive the best possible outcome. Treatment for AML may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, stem cell transplantation and targeted therapy. AML is a very serious and complex disease and requires careful management, with the goal of achieving long-term remission.
