Biography

  • Tao Xu received his PhD from the University of Oklahoma, where he developed new genetic tools for microbial engineering and employed enzymological, transcriptomic, and targeted genome-editing approaches to examine the role of polysaccharide degrading genes and carbon catabolite regulation in lignocellulose utilization.
  • He then went on to postdoctoral research at Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School investigating the role of gut microbial factors in human health.
