Biography

Dr. Giribabu Nelli is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he conducts research in reproductive physiology, diabetes mellitus, and natural products. He earned his PhD from Sri Venkateswara University and has established a significant body of work examining the therapeutic potential of plant-derived compounds in managing diabetes and its complications, particularly their protective effects against oxidative stress, inflammation, and reproductive dysfunction in experimental models. His research portfolio includes investigations of α-mangostin, Phyllanthus niruri, quercetin, Chlorophytum borivilianum, Vitis vinifera, and rhinacanthin C in diabetic conditions, as well as studies on leukemia inhibitory factor in embryo implantation and the reproductive toxicity of environmental contaminants such as di-n-butyl phthalate. His most-cited publication, "Phytochemical profile and antimicrobial activity of Jatropha curcas extracts against oral microorganisms" (2024), reflects his broader interest in the bioactive properties of natural products.
