Overview
Hematological malignancies are a type of cancer that affect the blood, bone marrow and lymphatic tissues. These malignancies can result in a variety of abnormal cell growth, including leukemias, lymphomas, and myelomas. Symptoms of hematological malignancies include fatigue, fever, anemia, and enlarged lymph nodes. Diagnosis and treatment of these malignancies are often complex and require specialized medical care. Early diagnosis and treatment are important because they can help to prevent progression of the cancer and improve the patient's prognosis. Treatment options include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and bone marrow or stem cell transplants.
